Last month, I have been buying a lot of prepackaged snacks. It was easy to do since it required no real work from me aside from opening the package and dumping the contents into our snack basket. But…it wasn’t the best idea.
I decided to come up with a list of healthy snacks we should have on hand: apples, string cheese, yogurt, bananas, and tortilla chips. Ok, so most healthy. And, the ingredients needed to make some yummy desserts: chocolate chip muffins, cookies, oatmeal balls, and rice crispy treats.
I was so excited when my daughter decided she wanted to make dessert!! She opted to make MnM Rice Crispy Treats.
First, she melted 3T of butter (microwave). Then, she counted out FORTY marshmallows. This probably isn’t hard except every few minutes she screamed a different number or asked “I have one pleeeez”. She lost count a few times! Next, she microwaved the butter and marshmallows for 90 seconds. When it came out she mixed in 6 cups of rice crispies. Finally, she poured them into a pan and topped them with MnMs.
Doesn’t it look delicious? And…most of all she is so proud of herself!!! DESSERT!!! YUM!
